CHOP! CHOP! CHOP! continues the indiscriminate felling. The sturdy stately "citizens" lick the earth as they are callously replaced by concrete.Their network increasing consistently, defying nature. Over the past two decades the tremedous populaion growth and escalating industrial development has put stress on the natural environment of the city. The ever increasing traffic aggravates the situation. The influx of population, billowing fumes from vehicles and industries, depletion of the 'green scene', is leading to the rapid environmental degradation of the 'green' city. Call it a case of sheer greed or sheer need it is indeed a vicious circle. The lush green city with refeshing and healthy air, 'the vacation of the retired', are all references of the past or might soon become. This
rapidly changing scenario is drawing immense attention as the emerging
picture is intimidating. Conscous citizens, groups and organisationsare
voicing their concern over the issue -not objecting to industrial growth
but exploring avenues to strike a harmonius balance between nature and
development. We at bangalore property.com also share the same view hence
support similar ideas and intend to grant a forum to allow individuals
and groups to come up with ways and means towards the cause, express
opinions and discuss issues relating to the field. Not a greenery around, nothing fresh to be found, everything lost amid the thickets of concrete, is not what we bargained for... We still prefer to be referred to as conscious citizens...citizens with "life" in a city of "life". |
